Would You Go to Jail for the Right To Vote?

Tue, Apr 14 | 11 am-Noon

Peoria Public Library, North Branch | 3001 West Grand Parkway, Peoria, IL 61615

It took nearly 70 years for women to win the right to vote, and this year we celebrate 100 years of owning that right. Do you know how previous generations of women fought for that right? Do you know that some endured assault, jail time and starvation to advance the cause? Join us for a brief and engaging history lesson, and help us decorate sashes similar to those worn by the original suffragettes. These sashes will be worn at a later celebration event!
