GIANT SCREEN DIGITAL THEATER
At six stories high and seven stories wide, the giant movie screen at the Peoria Riverfront Museum extends beyond the field of vision, so viewers literally experience the big picture. Add ultra-sharp, ultra-detailed images; a state-of-the-art audio system generating up to 14,000 watts of power for surround sound you can feel; reclining seats in stadium configuration so every seat is the best seat in the house; and 3-D capabilities that make you think you can reach out and touch objects on the screen.
The experience is so realistic, you might forget it's only a movie and find yourself diving for cover when a 20-foot-tall elephant charges your way or an F-14 fighter jet approaches at the speed of sound! The giant screen will be one of the first to use a digital format, rather than film, for the most vivid experience imaginable.
ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY
The Peoria Riverfront Museum Board voted to partner with international immersive theater specialist Global Immersion to provide the technical solution for the museum's Giant Screen Digital Theater (GSDT).
