U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree | Whistlestop Tour 2026

See the tree as it travels to the U.S. Capitol building!

Every year, appearing on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol building, a tree is selected by a different national forest for the holiday season to represent the nation’s national forests and the communities within them, notably, why it is nicknamed “The People’s Tree."

We are thrilled to have America's Christmas Tree visit the Peoria Riverfront Museum as it journeys to Washington, D.C.

See the tree itself, and visit booths from:

  • United States Forest Service
  • U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree official merchandise
  • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
  • Kenworth Truck Company
  • Boise Cascade
  • Illinois DNR Forestry Division
