The Center for American Decoys celebrates the rich history, artistry, and cultural significance of the American waterfowl decoy. Located in the heart of the Illinois River Valley, one of the most celebrated waterfowl hunting regions in North America, the Center for American Decoys explores the enduring traditions of decoy carving and the role these handcrafted objects have played in American sporting, folk art, and conservation history.
For generations, decoys have reflected the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the hunters and artists who created them. What began as practical hunting tools evolved into works of remarkable artistic expression, with master carvers developing distinctive regional styles that are now prized by collectors and museums alike.
