Following his beatification on September 24, 2026, Blessed Fulton J. Sheen is one the few Americans to have reached the third of the four steps in the Catholic Church's path to sainthood. Sheen has been declared Blessed, and his path to become a canonized saint continues.

Sheen, born in El Paso, Illinois, was buried at St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria, Illinois since his remains were moved too advance his cause for sainthood in 2019. He is most remembered for his work in television, earning an Emmy Award for Most Outstanding Television Personality for his work on the television show Life is Worth Living.
