Dash Robots
Fridays, Jan 11-Feb 1 | 1:15-2:15 pm

Ages 8-10
Dash is a real robot that can see, talk, dance, and respond to your voice! Dash teaches coding and robotics in a simple way to reach students of all ages. Help Dash complete obstacle courses, launch projectiles at targets, and sketch pictures while learning computer language fundamentals.

Video Game Design
Fridays, Jan 11-Feb 1 | 1:15-2:15 pm

Ages 10-14
Have you ever dreamed of creating your own computer game? In this four-week class, you can make that dream a reality! Using the Scratch software developed by educators at MIT, students will learn the basics of computer programming, and then apply them to create simplistic games that can be edited and accessed from home, even after the class is over! All experience levels are welcome.

Elementary Pottery
Fridays, Jan 11-Feb 1 | 1:15-2:15 pm

Ages 6-10
Students will explore the artistic medium of clay through hand building techniques, wheel work, and glazing. Students will take home at least three completed projects, and will walk away with a better understanding of the building, firing, and glazing processes. No previous experience is necessary, and students are welcome to take this class several times as projects will continue to change.

Painting & Drawing

Ages 10-14
Pick up a paintbrush and a pencil, and join us in exploring the basic principles of art and color. Local artist and printmaker Nana Ekow will guide students in developing and refining their basic painting and drawing skills, and teach new techniques and styles. All skill levels are welcome.

Astronomy: See the Seasons
Fridays, Jan 11-Feb 1 | 1:15-2:15 pm

Ages 6-14
Students will meet in the Planetarium each week to see and understand how the Earth’s motions through space affect what we see in the sky and experience on the ground. In the first class they will set-up their own special time-lapse, pinhole camera to photograph the Sun’s changing path across the sky, to be retrieved during the last class. Adults are encouraged to stay, particularly for the first and last classes, to help students construct their time-lapse cameras and retrieve their photographs; the activities and presentations are likely to be of interest to them as well!

Glass Art

Ages 14-18
Learn all about glass art- from Tiffany to Frank Lloyd Wright! Each week students will create projects with glass or pseudo glass. They will learn about glass artists, fuse glass in the kiln,create stained glass, and much more!

Little Scientists

Ages 3-6
Put on your lab coat and get ready to have some fun! In this class, students will explore the world all around them as they drive into topics related to biology, chemistry, astronomy and paleontology. Combining science and literacy, each class starts with a story related to the day's activity. Many classes are messy, so please wear old clothes. Caregivers must stay with children.

Sculpture

Ages 10-14
Join us to create 3D art this session! We will begin by learning from the museum's sculpture exhibition, discuss relief vs three dimensional art, sculpture in the round, and focus on the figure in three dimensional art. Students will create a sculpture of their own over the four weeks of class!

Space is the Place
Fridays, Jan 11-Feb 1 | 2:30-3:30 pm

Ages 6-14
If you love space, you'll love this class! We'll meet in the Dome Planetarium and watch a special version of "Stars Over Peoria" tailored to the class! After the show students get a unique hands-on experience to fly through space using an Xbox controller, learn about awesome missions to other planets, constellations, and much more!
