Join us for a unique perspective on our newest exhibition, Vantage Points: Contemporary Photography from the Whitney Museum of American Art. The exhibition’s curator, Carrie Springer, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum, will speak about Vantage Points, the Whitney Museum, and a few key pieces. Artist and Midwest native Melissa Ann Pinney, featured in the exhibition, will join Ms. Springer for a lively conversation about contemporary photography.
Following the talk, guests will be invited to take a second look at the exhibition in a new light. A light reception will follow in the Lobby.

Melissa Ann Pinney, artist
Melissa Ann Pinney is a fine art photographer based in Evanston, Illinois. She is a Guggenheim Fellow and has work included in the permanent collections of the following museums, among many others: Art Institute of Chicago, J. Paul Getty Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Whitney Museum of American Art. Melissa's major book publications include Regarding Emma, Girl Ascending, and TWO. Melissa holds an MFA in photography from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BA from Columbia College.
