Every Other Friday | September - November | 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. | FREE with general admission
Join us at the Peoria Riverfront Museum for a celebration of folk art! With a live performance, a live art demonstration, and a make-it-yourself craft every other Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., this is the perfect educational experience for the whole family!
Based on current exhibition FOLK: Selections from the American Folk Art Museum , Folk Fridays celebrates a diverse selection of folk arts, including metalworking, basket weaving, soap carving and more. Each art form will be paired with a performance, and a craft that you can make yourself!
Folk Fridays will begin on September 6, 2024, with a LIVE metalworking demonstration by local artist Danny Rohr on the Peoria Riverfront Museum's Sun Plaza. This will be paired with the homestyle acoustic sounds of Kirk Wessler, and a free craft that you can take home at the end of the day.
Folk Fridays are free with general admission.
Generous support provided by Art Bridges, Visionary Society, and Illinois Arts Council.
