A Message from our President & CEO John Morris
Dear Members, Friends and Neighbors:
March 14, we made the necessary decision to close our museum building to the public and cancel all events until further notice. This time of year, the Peoria Riverfront Museum would normally be active with thousands of excited children on school tours.
We’re saddened to think that the current situation has taken away the inspirational and confidence-building experiences that museum field trips provide these students and all people who count on museum visits to lift them up.
Our buildings may be closed, but we are determined to continue to tell entertaining and uplifting stories.
On behalf of the Peoria Riverfront Museum's board, staff, and with the help of our generous museum members and donors, we stand committed throughout this crisis to continue to play a vital role.
Starting today for as long as it takes and beyond, we are launching the Virtual Peoria Riverfront Museum.
Our virtual museum will draw on the resources of our staff, collection and exhibitions as the nation's only museum of art, science, history and achievement to make content accessible on social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, our website and through email. We will continue to partner with more than 220 like-minded cultural, educational and civic organizations regionally and nationally.
Let's all work together in all the ways we can to help each other when we need it most. We care deeply about our community and continue to hope for the best possible outcome. Our prayers are with those who are ill and the healthcare professionals and families who are caring for them. Be safe. Stay well. Join us for inspiration daily through the Virtual Peoria Riverfront Museum.
